YouthArts New York

.
YouthArts New York is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation with the mission of providing experiences in the arts and science to engage youth within the school system of New York City in building a peaceful and sustainable future. YouthArts for many years has trailblazed innovative and engaging after-school programs admist catastrophic budget cuts within the school system itself. Such programs have included Mask-Making Workshops, Beading Workshops, Photography Workshops, Attending the Theater, Decorative Eggs Workshops, and more. Guiding Principles include: encouraging self-expression in a safe, creative environment; developing a student-centered learning community; forming partnerships with diverse groups; building peace, global understanding, and friendship.
Youth Arts New York is focusing their attention on the Hibakusha Stories initiative. Hibakusha is the term given to those people who survived the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. It is also used to include all those who have suffered from exposure to ionizing radiation that is a product of the nuclear fuel chain.
The YouthArts site was totally redesigned and re-built in WordPress, allowing Robert to make changes as as often as necessary. I picked out a light and airy theme that complimented the subject matter.

Webworks did a fantastic job of creating the Hibakusha Stories website and now the YouthArts New York site, and does a fantastic job of updating it. We give them the basics and they deliver with style and panache. Webworks is responsive and creative and turnaround time is quick. We love Webworks. — Robert Croonquist
